Avalanche Averted

This past Sunday was everything we had hoped and dreamed it could be.

Now, if you are from Charlotte, you know that the weather forecasters did not help. On Saturday night they were predicting avalanches, Armageddon, and twelve feet of snow...in fact things weren't so bad.

But our volunteers were hyper-ready. The campus was primed, our guys who drive trucks parked in the mud and sacrificed shoes and floor mats for the cause, our parking lot guys braved really ugly cold to get people in and, in spite of the forecast, cold, and weather, we had as many new people as we have ever had.

What a Sunday. The worship was insanely good, I felt a real freedom in teaching, and folks have been calling and e-mailing non-stop talking about how they sensed God's presence and made real spiritual advances in dealing with anger and forgiveness.

Shot glasses got delivered, more will come, and the media continues to take notice. Tomorrow morning I am doing a Sirius radio network interview which will reach hundreds of stations and many thousands of people. Churches from all over the country are writing and calling, asking for shot glasses, asking how they can do a similar outreach, or saying "I wish we could do that here". (My response...just do it).

And we are T-minus two weeks to the Ballantyne Campus launch and our return to three services in Matthews.

One church - multiple locations is about to become a reality, not a slogan!

Bottom line - the energy and growth and sense of God's presence are almost overwhelming right now.

Keep praying and keep bringing folks and, more than ever, step up and get in the game by serving!

It's too much fun now to miss out!
