Not too pleased with the form of yesterday's teaching - I prefer to drill down into one passage and extract one Big Idea and yesterday was all over the map - but I think it was necessary to make the main point: God blesses us so that we can bless others by meeting their spiritual and physical needs.
It is hard to really, really get that unless you see the whole scope of the Bible's teaching on the matter, so we had to do "through the Bible" in fifteen minutes, obviously not ideal.
But...we got off to a great start on our inter(act) series and I really believe this will be a landmark series for us. God has hardwired into NLC a passion for community service and caring for the materially poor and I am really excited to see where he takes us during this very intentional time.
