I just watched the Belmont Stakes, hoping Big Brown would win the first Triple Crown in three decades.
Umm...not so much.
He came in last, the first time this has ever happened to a Triple Crown contender.
This in spite of the fact that his trainer said his winning was a "foregone conclusion".
There are no foregone conclusions in horse racing, life, work, church.
Victories come only as a combination of hard work, dependence on God, and humility.
When we think our winning is a foregone conclusion, we are toast.
God protect us from that...at NLC.
