Well, the weekend was everything we hoped it would be.
Our largest crowd ever in one place.
What I believe to be the greatest worship service we have ever heard (amazing, Harrison and team).
And the fun experiment of tweeting during worship (great idea, Jared).
We got lots of media attention - front page in the Observer, continually running loop on News 14 Carolina, Associated Press beginning to distribute the story nationwide.
To be honest, it is a little tempting to do nothing but celebrate now in this post. To give you links to the articles, talk about numbers, single out folks in the amazing army of volunteers we had.
But I don't think I am supposed to do that.
I think I'm supposed to do two things.
One, repeat yesterday's Big Idea: The Resurrection means that everything will one day be perfect and that every moment now counts..and to encourage you to spend time this week reading 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 and 50-58.
Two, to remind us all that it is not about us. Not about our awesome attendance numbers or our cool ideas or our (hopefully) great technical production. But it is all about the risen Christ, who today reigns at God's right hand, is summing up all things in himself (Ephesians 1) and will one day soon create a new heavens and a new earth which we will inhabit in our resurrected bodies.
All honor and praise to Him and Him alone!
Happy, joyful Easter Monday.
