One of the great things about our team at NLC is that I can be gone on a Sunday without a second thought as to whether or not things will come together. I know that Harrison will have everything going on in the auditorium in great shape and that Rob, Melissa, and Doug will have the rest of the campus humming. And I can have total confidence that the teaching will be as good as (and often better than) when I am in town. You guys have no idea how much that means - to be able to be away and really be AWAY!
-Yesterday, Pastor Robbie knocked it out of the park in our second week of "The Things We Do"...including our first ever baptism on stage - talk about a great teaching illustration! Some other highlights from the day...
-We had five folks tell us they prayed to receive Christ for the first time, which brings our year to date total at NLC to 166!!! Folks, that is NOT NORMAL! Yea, God!
-We have thirty-two folks signed up for baptism this coming Sunday, and there is still room for you!
-150 more bookbags for Rock Rest were taken, leaving only 130 more to go...when we get those taken care of, 600 kids at Rock Rest will have back to school supplies and a cool bag courtesy of NLC and the Give:Love Project!
-We have had rising attendance each week in August so far. Again, folks, this is NOT NORMAL!!
-26 are signed up for our introductory Starting Point class next Monday the 17th...there are still a few more slots left, but hurry to sign up.
So...these are supposed to be the "dog days" of summer for churches...thanks, NLC, for making sure that instead of dogging it we are growing and gaining momentum for the fall!
