I Got Nothing

"Apart from me, you can do nothing" - Jesus Christ

Do you really believe that?

Do you really, truly, deep down believe that outside of Jesus Christ there is nothing of lasting value you can do?

I tend to think in big picture terms so for many years what Jesus' statement communicated to me was "Apart from me you can do nothing big, nothing of significance, nothing that lasts".

But that's not what Jesus said.

He said "nothing". Period.

I can't navigate a day apart from him.
I can't have a meaningful conversation apart from him.
I can't have the kind of relationships, make the kinds of decisions, order the right kind of priorities apart from him.
I can't be the dad, husband, friend, leader I am meant to be apart from him.

And neither can you. So why do we try so hard so often to do the day to day without him.

Where are you going it on your own?

And where can you knock that off and invite him in?
