Nothing Compares

"To whom can you compare God? What image can you find to resemble him?" - Isaiah 40:18

The quick and easy answer to the question Isaiah asks is "Ummm..nothing".

But we still try.

God is incomparable in his love. But we still look for ultimate love in other places.

God is incomparable in his beauty. But we still are drawn to beautiful things for their own sake rather than because we love the giver of the beauty.

God is incomparable in his provision. But we still think we have to take care of ourselves.

God is incomparable in his moral standards. But we still look for ways to bend them.

God is incomparable in his promise-keeping. But we still doubt.

God is incomparable in his strength. But we still wonder if he will come through for us.

God is incomparable in his trustworthiness. But we still are tempted to doubt.

God is absolutely beyond compare. But we still compare.

Where do you need to recognize and ACT on your recognition that no-thing or no-one will ever match God in his greatness and goodness?
