Friday SOAP

SCRIPTURE
"This includes you, who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body" - Colossians 1:21-22a

OBSERVATION
Outside of Christ, our evil thoughts and actions mean that we are actually God's enemies.

APPLICATION
I can never again be God's enemy because Christ has reconciled us once and for all. However, when I give in to evil thoughts and actions I behave AS IF I am God's enemy. That is really sobering.

PRAYER
Lord, thank you for dying for me when I was your enemy. I want to live as your friend. By your grace, I renew my commitment to take every thought captive to obeying Christ.
