Cliché, I know.
It's just that music speaks to me, connects me to ideas that otherwise have a harder time getting through. I have no doubt that God created music because there are times when music becomes more than the sum of its parts.
You have the drums and the guitars and the keyboards and the vocals and the lyrics, and these are all great things, but there are songs that combine them to become something more.
Here is a new song that hit me hard this week, by the David Crowder Band. Maybe it won't do much for you, but I still thought it was worth passing on. It's all about new beginnings. It's about asking for God to do something new.
"Shine on in and give these dead bones life..."
Check it out, and read the lyrics while you listen, and maybe this song will speak to you too. Maybe this song can help you talk to God like it did for me.
And a helpful hint: stick with it at least until the 1:45 mark. It might start slow, but it hits hard at the end. Worth the wait.
