In our efforts to reach out to disconnected people anywhere and everywhere, NLC recently traveled all the way to Lima , Peru with a team of 10 missionaries.
For nearly 2 years now, NLC has sponsored a Child Survivor Program with Compassion International located in the South American city of Lima . This program supports almost 50 mothers and their children ages 0-3 years old. The children receive the Gospel, education, and health care while the mothers learn income generating activities to help support themselves and their children. Here is a photo of our recent trip.
In addition to supporting Compassion International, NLC has also connected with an amazing church in Lima called Camino DeVida, meaning The Way of Life in Spanish. One of our stops on this trip was the orphanage that we support through CDV. We were able to donate many items such as blankets, toiletries, and other basic necessities.
Perhaps the most memorable activity on our trip was when we were able to build a house from the ground up for a widow living on the side of a hill. Check out this video of the project.
A trip like this will change you and your life forever. Jesus has called us to go out and make disciples in His name (Matthew 28:19). When we obey the Lord we cannot stop the change for good that will happen in our lives. Our goal is to continually support these projects in Lima, Peru and we would love for you to join us next time.
Our next trip is loosely planned for the 4th quarter of this year. If you are interested, please contact me with any questions or for suggestions on how to start planning.
